Join Gabriola Arts Council Artist in Residence, Jessica ᒦᖒᐊᖅᑏ Miinguuaqtii and special guests, Celeste Johnson and Pablo Ochoa for a workshop exploring The Art of Communication. They will lead a discussion on how language shapes our perception and our perception shapes our reality through the lens of their own unique experiences with spoken languages (Inuktitut, French, Spanish, English and more). Following the sharing circle, you will be invited to engage in non verbal communication through the languages of visual art, music and dance. You will be guided through abstract mark making and intuitive movement exercises paired with live violin music. This workshop is open to all skill levels; no previous drawing or dancing experience required. 

Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing and bring a water bottle. You will be asked to remove your shoes while dancing.
